2,6-Difluorobenzamide is a white powdery crystalline solid with a melting point of 143–145°C and is insoluble in water.
Uses:
It is an important intermediate in the synthesis of benzoylurea insecticides. It is used to synthesize the next intermediate, 2,6-difluorobenzoyl isocyanate, which ultimately leads to pesticide varieties such as hexaflumuron, diflubenzuron, flufenoxuron, and lufenuron. Additionally, 2,6-difluorobenzamide can be used directly for the synthesis of diflubenzuron and hexaflumuron.
